Web Design and Development
Your Website Is Probably Losing Wasatch Front Customers Before They Read a Single Word.
Slow loading. Bad mobile design. Confusing navigation. Outdated look. Every one of those problems costs you customers who bounce in seconds. The Wasatch Front is a sophisticated tech market with high mobile usage and even higher expectations. We build websites that load fast, look credible, and rank on Google from day one.
What We Build for Salt Lake City Businesses
Custom websites built for your business
No templates dressed up to look custom. Every site is designed from scratch for your specific business, brand, and customers. We start with what you sell, who buys it, and what they need to see before they pick up the phone. Then we design around that. The result is a site that does not look like every other business in your industry.
Our design process is collaborative. You see wireframes and visual designs at every stage. Nothing gets built until you have approved it. The first time you see code in your browser, the design is already settled.
SEO foundation included on every site
Every site we build ships with proper on-page SEO, schema markup, semantic HTML, optimized images, and a sitemap. Page titles and meta descriptions are written for every page, not left as defaults. Internal linking is planned, not random. The technical foundation is the part Google checks first, and we get it right before launch.
If you also engage our SEO services after launch, the site is already configured for the work to start moving rankings on day one. Most rebuilds we do see Google traffic improvements within 60 to 90 days from technical fixes alone.
Mobile-first, fast-loading, conversion-focused
More than 60% of your traffic is on mobile. We design mobile-first, then scale up to desktop. Pages load in under 2 seconds on a 4G connection. Click-to-call buttons are prominent on every page. Contact forms are short and friction-free. Every page has a clear next step.
Page speed is not a vanity metric. A 1-second delay in load time can cut conversions by 7 to 10%. We optimize for Core Web Vitals (the speed and stability metrics Google uses for rankings) on every build.
Platforms We Build On
We work in whatever makes most sense for your business. Here are the four platforms we use most often.
WordPress
The most popular platform in the world. Fully customizable. Easy to update yourself. Best fit for content-heavy sites, service businesses, and most local Salt Lake City businesses. Plays well with every SEO tool that matters.
Shopify
Best for ecommerce. Built-in inventory, payments, shipping, and checkout. We build custom Shopify themes that load fast and rank for product searches. Ideal for Wasatch Front retail brands selling online or wholesale.
React / Astro
Modern, fastest performance, lowest hosting cost. We build static and hybrid React or Astro sites for businesses that prioritize page speed and want a developer-friendly codebase. Best for tech-forward companies.
Custom builds
Anything you need. Headless CMS, custom backend, third-party integrations, member portals, booking systems. Scope and quote on request.

Pricing
Starting price
$400
Custom Web Design Starting at $400
Every website we build is custom-scoped. The starting price of $400 covers a small business site with a professionally designed homepage, up to 5 supporting pages, mobile-optimized responsive design, on-page SEO foundation, and contact form integration. It is the right starting point for solo practitioners, small Wasatch Front service businesses, and any business launching its first real web presence.
Larger sites, ecommerce builds, custom backend functionality, multi-location setups, and complex integrations are scoped individually. Final cost depends on pages, features, content, and platform. You get a fixed, written quote before any work begins, with no hidden costs and no scope creep surprises.
Most small to mid-size Salt Lake City service businesses end up between $1,500 and $6,000 for a full website build. Ecommerce builds typically run $4,000 to $15,000 depending on catalog size and features. Custom enterprise builds are quoted on request. Payment plans are available on any project over $1,000 with a 50% deposit to start and the balance due at launch.

What Makes a Website “Good” in 2026
Most Salt Lake City businesses get one chance to make a first impression on a potential customer who lands on their website. That impression forms in roughly 3 seconds. The customer is making three judgments almost subconsciously: does this look like a real, credible business, can I figure out what they offer, and can I tell what to do next. If the answer to any of those is no, they leave.
A good website in 2026 looks current without being trendy. It loads in under 2 seconds on mobile. It uses clear language instead of marketing jargon. It puts the most important information above the fold. It makes phone numbers, addresses, and contact forms easy to find on every page. It does not have intro videos, full-screen pop-ups on load, or auto-playing audio.
A good website also works for Google. Page titles describe what each page is about. Headings follow a logical hierarchy. Images have alt text. Internal links connect related pages. Structured data markup tells Google what kind of business you are and where you operate. None of this is visible to your customer, but it is what determines whether your site gets found in the first place.
We build for both audiences at once. The human reading the page and the algorithm deciding whether to show the page. A site that wins one but loses the other is a site that will not make you money.
What Web Design Clients Say
“Our old website was 8 years old and we knew it. The rebuild went from sketch to live in about 6 weeks. Within 90 days our average time on site doubled and our contact form submissions were up 65%. Bonus, the new site actually ranks for the keywords my old one never did.”
Common Web Design Questions
Direct answers to what Wasatch Front business owners ask.
How long does a website take to build?
Most small business sites take 4 to 8 weeks from kickoff to launch. Larger sites and ecommerce builds typically run 8 to 16 weeks. Custom enterprise builds vary based on scope. Every project gets a written timeline before work starts.
Do I own the website when you are done?
Yes. You own everything: the design, the code, the content, and all hosting access. We do not lock clients into proprietary platforms or hold the site hostage. You can take it elsewhere any time.
Will the website rank on Google?
Every site we build ships with on-page SEO done correctly. That gets you a strong foundation but does not by itself put you on Page 1 for competitive keywords. For that you need ongoing SEO work. Many web design clients add an SEO package after launch.
Can I update the site myself?
Yes. WordPress and Shopify both have user-friendly editors. We train your team on how to update content, add blog posts, change images, and edit pages. For React or Astro sites we usually set up a CMS like Sanity or Contentful so non-developers can manage content too.
Do you migrate content from my old site?
Yes. Content migration and URL redirects (so you do not lose existing Google rankings) are included in every rebuild project.
What about hosting?
We can set up hosting for you or work with your existing hosting provider. For WordPress we recommend managed hosts like Kinsta or WP Engine. For Shopify, hosting is included with the platform. For React or Astro, we usually deploy to Cloudflare Pages or Vercel.
Do you do ongoing maintenance?
Yes. Optional maintenance plans cover updates, security monitoring, backups, and minor content changes. Starts at $75 per month.
Will my website be ADA accessible?
Yes. Every site we build follows WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility guidelines. That means screen-reader friendly markup, sufficient color contrast, keyboard navigation, and properly labeled forms. Accessibility is also a Google ranking factor on top of being the right thing to do for your customers.
Can you integrate with my CRM, booking system, or payment processor?
Yes. We routinely integrate with HubSpot, Salesforce, Acuity, Calendly, Stripe, Square, Mailchimp, and most other major business tools. If you have a specific integration in mind, mention it during scoping.
What if my business is in a regulated industry like medical or legal?
We have built sites for dental practices, medical clinics, law firms, and financial advisors across Salt Lake County. We are familiar with the privacy, accessibility, and disclosure requirements specific to these industries, including HIPAA-aware contact form handling for healthcare clients.
Common Web Design Mistakes We See on Wasatch Front Business Sites
Patterns we run into on most rebuilds. Avoiding these is half the battle.
- Buried phone numbers. For local service businesses, the phone number should be in the header, in the footer, and in every CTA. Most lost customers were one click away from picking up the phone.
- No clear next step. Every page needs to answer “what do you want me to do.” Without a clear CTA, even interested visitors leave.
- Hero image with no headline. A pretty photo with no copy tells the visitor nothing about what you offer. The first thing on the page should be a clear, specific value statement.
- Stock photos that scream “stock photo.” Generic shaking-hands photography is worse than no photo. Real photography of your team and work always wins.
- 12-field contact forms. Each extra field cuts submissions. Most forms only need name, email, and message. Add fields only when you genuinely need the data.
- No mobile testing. The site looks fine on the designer's laptop, but it is broken on the 60% of traffic using a phone. Every site we build is tested on real devices.
